My Updates

Day one 12

Sunday 12th Apr
Hello so this past week was a bit of a busy week for me with work appointments and commitments. These past 2 days I’ve been able to get out and go for a walk with my dogs. Today was a bit of a wet one and it is gloomy. The dogs enjoyed the walk regardless of the weather so did I, it felt great to just move my body, although by my second round with Brodie my body was getting tired and a bit stiffer.

Day 5

Sunday 5th Apr
This mornings walk was a bit on the chilly side with Archie. When I got home I added the weighted walking vest and a coat. The walk was a bit of a challenge as this morning’s walk I changed it up and there’s a street in town that has a continuous incline then when you add a weighted vest I felt the burn in my legs and hips.

Day 4

Saturday 4th Apr
Today was a very windy day so that in itself was a challenge. The wind was coming from the north so there was a little bit to it. The dogs were good but their hooman was sore and tired. I was happy to be done with the walk. See you tomorrow it might be a shorter walk though we’ll see.

Day 3

Friday 3rd Apr
Ok I will admit I had absolutely no energy to go for  an 8km walk with the dogs. At the end of the day I did go and I don’t regret it . The weather was great for a good long walk . My dogs enjoyed their walk. It also gives me time to reflect on my thoughts. Or to just be present just for me.

Day 2

Friday 3rd Apr
So today I tried my weighted walking vest I took out 4 bricks for the first walk. I took Archie first today, and if anyone has ever walked with Archie he loves to pull. I went for a longer walk with the dogs today. By the time I got home with Archie I had to take the walking vest as I was getting light headed but let me tell you my shirt was a bit wet from the walk, and it was a chilly morning this morning. My walk with Brodie went well at first he was excited to go so he pulled  but it didn’t last for long. But with this walk I was tired or my legs felt like mush. So in my opinion the walking vest did its job for a good workout. This walking vest looks like a bullet proof vest. Lol

Day1

Wednesday 1st Apr
Today I started my walking challenge for the heart and stroke in honour of my husband Dan. I still can’t believe that he is gone. So doing this challenge and bringing awareness to the heart and stroke is a very important cause to me and my family.

My walking buddies are Archie and Brodie and they really enjoyed their first walk of the year. As they are big dogs and they both love to pull me during my walks the winter time is not safe for me to be walking the dogs due to the ice. So instead we just play fetch with the frizzbee.
