I'm on a mission to raise money for Heart&Stroke, and I can’t do it alone. Every donation, big or small, brings me one step closer to my fundraising target.

During my recent pregnancy, I experienced elevated blood pressure. Thankfully, nothing serious, but I did read about potential complications of continued elevated blood pressure. With this, I have made my goal for 2026 to lower my blood pressure through exercise and diet.

This challenge is a way to get me started on a daily walking habit and raise money for a good cause.

I am so proud of all the walking I did to achieve my goal. 44km in May! 

This is one part of my postpartum health journey, along with improving my diet, and hitting classes at the gym. With all of this, my blood pressure has normalized and my mental health has improved.

Thanks to all those who donated, and to my husband who supported my goals. Walking will be part of my activities moving forward.

Sunday 24th May
Tonight, I hit 32km of walking. I will keep tracking and going for the month of May, then hope to continue my walking habits into June.

Thanks to some awesome donors, I also achieved my fundraising goal of $250. Thanks to Andrew and Rebecca for getting me there. 

Almost there!

Wednesday 20th May
I have been enjoying finding ways to walk more each day and track my adventures. As the weather improves it has been easier.

I have noticed that my mental health is up, my body feels better, and my blood pressure is lower.

While I haven't tracked every day, I am walking 3-4 times per week and enjoying having it in my weekly habits. 10 days to go, I am hoping to hit 40 kms!

Sunday 3rd May
Two beautiful weather days meant two great walks outside.

Enjoying getting my vitamin D, walking with my family, and moving my body.
