Walking 50 km This April — For Them ❤️
Sunday 29th MarThis April, I’m taking on the Heart & Stroke Challenge and committing to walk 50 kilometers. On the surface, it’s a fitness goal. But for me, it’s so much more than that.
Every step I take is for the people I’ve loved and lost.
I’m walking for my mom.
I’m walking for my stepdad.
I’m walking for my Brother.
Each of them left this world because of heart and stroke-related issues, and not a day goes by that I don’t feel their absence. Grief doesn’t really “go away”—it just becomes something you learn to carry. And this month, I’m choosing to carry it forward, one step at a time, with purpose.
But I’m not only walking in memory.
I’m walking for the people in my life who are still here—my family, my friends, and everyone who is currently fighting, recovering, or living with heart-related conditions. This journey is for them too. For their strength, their resilience, and the hope that more research, awareness, and support can make a difference.
Fifty kilometers might sound like a number, but to me it represents something deeper:
- 50 chances to reflect
- 50 chances to remember
- 50 chances to move forward
There will be days when it feels easy, and days when it doesn’t. Days when I feel strong, and days when grief hits a little harder. But I’ll keep walking—because this matters.
If you’ve ever lost someone to heart disease or stroke, you understand the impact it leaves behind. And if you haven’t, I hope you never do—but I hope you’ll still support the cause, because it touches more lives than we often realize.
So this April, I walk with love in my heart, memories in my mind, and purpose in every step.
For those we’ve lost.
For those still fighting.
For a future with more hope.
❤️
