Wednesday 1st AprIn March 2024, my dad faced a life-threatening emergency caused by a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). During his surgery, doctors also discovered severe coronary heart disease, with multiple blockages that would typically require a quintuple bypass. After review by a panel of Ontario’s top cardiologists, surgery was deemed too risky given everything his body had already endured.
Today, two years later, he has made an incredible recovery from the AAA and is managing his heart disease with medication and regular monitoring.
This cause is deeply personal to me. Without the research, innovation, and care supported by this foundation, I don’t know if my dad would still be here.
