🌟 I need your support! 🌟
This September, the Heart & Stroke Foundation is challenging people to walk 90km (56 miles) throughout the month to raise money to support their cause.
However, yesterday I read an article titled “North Van lads trek 126km to Chilliwack just for fun.”
That got me thinking.
If someone can walk 126km to Chilliwack just for the hell of it, what's stopping me from walking 90km for something that actually matters?
This coming Labour Day, I've decided to take the Heart & Stroke challenge and make it considerably harder on myself: 90km in 24 hours or less.
One weekend. One very long walk.
I know it'll be difficult. There will probably be a point where my feet hate me, my legs hate me, and I'm wondering why I thought this was a good idea. But I'd rather find out what I'm capable of than never try.
Because there are plenty of things in life that can scare you. For me, the thought of not trying has always been worse.
If you or someone you know has been affected by heart disease or stroke, or you'd simply like to support the challenge, I'd encourage you to follow along and donate whatever you're comfortable giving to a worthy cause.
