A Bedtime Story for Lucy and Charlie
Sunday 14th JunOnce upon a time, long, long, LONG ago.
It was the ancient times, the dawn of a world that came before the world you know.
It was, in fact, the way, way-back times of the 1900s, when Lolo was but a girl.
It was a time when “online” was where you stood to buy concert tickets, when an “apple” was just a delicious snack you could pick from a tree, and when a dollar cost a quarter, a quarter cost a nickel, and a nickel was worth a toonie!
Back then, Lolo believed that if she could think it, see it, or hear it, then she could do it!
One thing Lolo learned fairly quickly was that there were a lot of things that were more fun, easier, and felt better when she worked together with other people to get them done.
Another couple of things she learned, by watching her own Grandma, Papa, Mommy, and Daddy, were that it’s nice to be nice, and as people, we help other people whenever and however we can.
She learned that neighbours help neighbours.
Friends help friends.
Families help families.
Complete strangers help one another.
And sometimes big groups of strangers come together to help other strangers.
Well…
Fast forward a few decades.
Lolo now needs reading glasses to find her reading glasses.
Her knees may or may not work at any given time.
She makes suspicious creaking, cracking, and snapping noises every time she stands up.
🏊♀️😂❤️
Yet somehow she still believes that if she can see it, hear it, or think it, then (albeit with hearing aids, glasses, and a massage the next day) she can probably do it.
But she has also learned that when people work together, it’s usually more fun, easier, and better for everyone.
The moral of this story is simple:
It’s nice to be nice.
As people, we help other people whenever and however we can.
And when we work together, we really can do anything.
The End.
❤️
Love,
Your Lolo
