100K in May... #FatManRunning

Spring is here… which means it’s time to face reality: I am not in peak running shape. Not even “close enough to lie about it” shape.

So naturally, I’ve decided the best solution is to run 100 km in May. Because that makes perfect sense.

If I’m going to question my life choices for that many kilometers, I might as well do it for a cause that’s close to my heart… yes, I’m sticking with the pun.

I have Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome—a condition where my heart basically came with bonus wiring. I’ve had two ablation procedures to sort it out, and things are under control now, but it’s a pretty good reminder that heart health isn’t something to take lightly.

So I’m raising money for heart and stroke research. There are tons of great causes out there, but if you or someone you know has dealt with heart issues, this one hits home.

I’ll be posting updates along the way, so feel free to follow the journey. And I’m officially asking my friends to hold me accountable—if you notice I’ve gone quiet for a day or two, feel free to call me out.
