Walking 50km for the Hearts We Love: Why I’m Stepping Up This August
Wednesday 22nd Jul
Every step we take has the power to tell a story, honor a memory, and save a life.
This coming August, I am taking on a personal challenge: walking 50 kilometers to raise funds and awareness for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
This challenge isn't just about fitness or reaching a distance goal—it is deeply personal.
Why I’m Walking
This cause hit painfully close to home recently. Just this past July, my dearest friend lost his brother to a sudden heart attack. Watching someone you care about go through the grief of losing a loved one so unexpectedly is a heartbreak like no other. It served as a stark, painful reminder of how fragile life can be.
This journey is also dedicated to my mom. While she passed away from cancer, she also lived with heart problems during her life. Seeing a parent navigate health struggles leaves a lasting impact, and remembering her journey fuels my drive to support health research and care in any way I can.
I am walking to honor the memory of my friend’s brother, to remember my mom, and to stand alongside every family affected by heart disease.
How You Can Help
Heart disease and stroke impact millions of lives, but through research, education, and better care, we can change outcomes for families everywhere.
50 kilometers is a journey, but with your support, every single step will count toward a healthier future.
Here is how you can support my walk this August:
* Donate: Any amount—big or small—makes a real impact and goes directly toward life-saving research and programs through the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
* Share: Even if you aren't able to donate right now, sharing this post helps spread awareness and expands our reach.
* Cheer Me On: Words of encouragement go a long way as I log those kilometers!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support, love, and generosity. Let’s make every step count!
