Halfway there!!!!

Monday 14th Sep
Halfway through the month, halfway to my goal in kms and 10% to my fundraising goal.  Have offered up to my friends on social media that I would do a BURPEE for every new sponsorship I get today!!!!!!   Any more ideas to increase sponsorship ?   45k down 45k to go.

My fastest 2 miles ever and 32k complete

Friday 11th Sep
At the cottage my heart 💓 is always in my running.  Today I completed 3.23 km and that brought me to 32km in total.  2 miles of that was my fastest 2 miles ever.  The fact that so many friends are cheering me on 📣 đŸŽœ with their fundraising donations helps me to stay motivated when my butt is dragging.

Al most halfway!!!

❀ ONE THIRD DOWN. ONE THIRD OF THE GOAL.

10 days into September and I’ve already logged 30 of my 90 km for the Heart & Stroke Challenge. đŸš¶â€â™€ïžđŸƒâ€â™€ïž

And every kilometre is about more than hitting a number.

Moving more, walking, running and staying active can help reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. So this month, I’m putting one foot in front of the other — and turning those steps into something that can help save lives.

9 months ago, I couldn’t walk 100 feet.

Today, I’m chasing 90 km. ❀

Thank you to everyone cheering me on, sharing my journey and supporting this incredible cause. If you haven’t donated yet, even $10 helps turn these kilometres into something bigger.

👉 Help me reach my goal and help Heart & Stroke fund the research, education and support that can make a difference.

30 km down. 60 to go. Let’s keep moving. ❀

Today's 5km was for my dad!

Monday 7th Sep
❀ TODAY’S 5 KM — AT MY FAVOURITE PLACE IN THE WORLD: MY COTTAGE. đŸƒâ€â™€ïž

But today, I wasn’t running alone.

Running beside me in spirit was my Dad. 34 years ago, he died at this very cottage from a heart attack — at the same age I am today.

Heart disease has had a devastating impact on my family, and he’s been on my mind a lot this past week as I’ve been running my 90 km in September for Heart & Stroke.

Nine months ago, I couldn’t walk 100 feet. Today, I ran 5 km. I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to make such huge improvements in my health — and I want to turn that gratitude into something meaningful.

I’m running so other families don’t have to experience the heartbreak of losing someone they love too soon.

If you’ve been following my journey, please consider making a donation to Heart & Stroke. Every dollar helps fund research, prevention and support that can save lives.

Help me make the rest of these kilometres count.

DAY 3 — I ALMOST ATE. INSTEAD, I RAN. đŸƒâ€â™€ïž

Thursday 3rd Sep
❀ Hot. Bored. Thinking about snacks. 😅

So I got on the treadmill.

And tonight I pushed myself over 10 KM in just 3 days toward my 90 KM September Challenge! 🙌

But I need your help to make these kilometres count for more than just me.

❀ PLEASE DONATE if you can. Even $5 makes a difference.

I’m raising money and awareness for Heart & Stroke because heart disease and stroke can change a family’s life in an instant. Research, prevention, education and recovery support save lives — and I want to do my part.

My goal is to turn 90 km into real dollars that help make a difference.

From 200 steps to 2km

Tuesday 1st Sep
❀ 90 KM in September for Heart & Stroke ❀

Day 1 of the challenge is done — 2 km down, 88 to go! 🙌

Today was HOT, but I got out there and took those first steps toward my goal. A year ago, I couldn’t walk 200 steps, so being able to walk 2 km today feels like a huge accomplishment. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come and how much is possible when I keep going, one step at a time.

I’ve decided to take on the 90 KM in September challenge for Heart & Stroke, and I’d love for you to follow along with me.

This challenge is about so much more than walking 90 km. It’s another part of my health journey and of making some pretty big changes in my life. Heart disease has affected my family far too much, and losing family members around the age of 60 has always stayed with me.

This year, I decided I don’t want to simply accept that history as my future. I’m working on changing the trajectory of my health and hopefully changing what that family story looks like for the next generation. ❀

So over the month of September, I’m committing to getting those 90 kilometres in — one walk, jog and kilometre at a time. đŸƒâ€â™€ïž

Hi Ann-Marie, I have made a small donation to help you achieve your goal. Greg's parents both lost their lives to heart disease and we have always donated for them and other family members that have left us for the same reason. I admire what you are doing and wish you all the very best!
