Heart & Stroke has touched my family in a way that I will carry with me forever.
When my mother suffered a massive stroke, she never woke up. Losing her was one of the most heartbreaking experiences of my life. In the middle of that pain, I kept asking myself, “What can I do to help prevent another family from experiencing this?”
That’s why I’m choosing to support Heart & Stroke.
Many people don’t realize that a TIA, often called a “mini-stroke,” can be an important warning sign that something is wrong and that medical attention is needed. Through research, education, prevention and awareness, we can help give people a better chance at recognizing the warning signs and getting the help they need.
I can’t change what happened to my mother, but I can honour her by helping others.
