Heart health is a topic that is very close to me.

My second oldest son was born with congenital aortic stenosis.

At 16 - June 10, 2024 - we travelled to Edmonton (7 hours away from home) for him to undergo major open-heart surgery to have his valve replaced.

He faced significant complications during, and after, surgery before finally getting the go-ahead to come home after spending 3 weeks in the hospital.

On June 17, 2024, while my mother and I were away with my son, my father was admitted to our local hospital and diagnosed with Stage D aortic stenosis. On June 28, two days after we got home with my son, we lost my father. My mother got one day with him.

I will never not be passionate about heart health.
