In Memory of Paddy Ratchford

Walk 90 km in September

In Memory of Paddy

My brother Paddy was so much more than the way his life ended.

He was someone who loved his family deeply. He loved his dogs, and the little things that made life feel like home. He was someone who mattered to so many people, and losing him has left a space in our family that can never truly be filled.

Paddy died from heart disease in January 2026. Losing my brother so suddenly has changed me in ways I’m still learning how to put into words. There are days when the grief feels impossible, and days when I find myself smiling at a memory and feeling incredibly lucky that I got to call him my brother.

This September, I’ll be walking 90 kilometres in support of the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Paddy’s memory.

I’m doing this because heart disease takes far too many people we love, far too soon. Behind every statistic is a brother, a son, a father, a friend, a partner, a family left trying to figure out how to carry on without them.

For me, that person is Paddy.

Every kilometre I walk will be for him, for our family, and for all of the families who have been changed by heart disease.

If you’re able to donate, share this fundraiser, or even join my team and walk some of those kilometres alongside me, it would mean more than I can explain.

I’ll be carrying my brother with me every step of the way. ❤️

For Paddy. Always.
